Hallmark’s ‘Merry & Bright’ Stars Favs Jodie Sweetin, Andrew Walker
A case of mistaken identity, coupled with cute dogs and a whole lotta candy canes is the recipe for the fun Hallmark Christmas movie Merry & Bright. Two perennial Hallmark favorites, Fuller House’s Jodie Sweetin and The Christmas Bride’s Andrew Walker are the dream team in this hysterical and romantic Christmas movie, as the Countdown to Christmas continues! If you want a funny Christmas movie, this is the ticket.
What Is Merry & Bright About?
Cate (Sweetin) is the CEO of the Merry & Bright Candy Cane Company. It’s Christmas season, her busiest time of the year. She meets Gabe (Walker) and immediately assumes this is the guy that her meddling mom Joy (Sharon Lawrence) set her up with. They have a funny exchange when they meet, setting up for a very funny Christmas romance.
Instead, Gabe works for Empire Corporate Recovery. He is a “quick-talking executive,” in charge of watching the day-to-day operations and to look at Merry & Bright’s books to come up with ideas to make this struggling family-owned company more profitable. Cate has a lot of pride in her company, as she uses her own secret family recipes in the sweet products they produce. She is particular about the quality of the ingredients that they use.
Gabe is more of a slick-talking executive and that does not mesh too well with Cate’s business philosophy. Although things don’t start out too great, eventually Cate and Gabe begin to really work together and find solutions to making her family-run company profitable. Meanwhile, Joy is busy training a rescue dog that seems to rescue her, in this fun and romantic Christmas movie.

Andrew Walker Enjoys Humorous Role
Merry & Bright is the first of two Andrew Walker Hallmark Christmas movies this season, and Hallmark has already offered this on DVD. Walker spoke to My Devotional Thoughts, and shared that he loved acting with Sweetin. He shared that he is showing a different side of his acting skills, “Because I got to work with Jodie Sweetin, who is a sitcom veteran, I think that’s a big plus for the comedy aspect of Merry & Bright. I think that for me working with her, it gave me the ability to exercise that side of my character and play with more of the comedy aspects of the film.”
Walker fans will be happy to know that the fan fav will also star in Christmas On My Mind. His co-star is Twilight’s, Ashley Greene. This highly anticipated movie is currently scheduled to air on December 21.

When Can You See Merry & Bright?
Merry & Bright premiered November 2, 2019, with Encores on Dec. 7 at 12 a.m., Dec. 15 at 12 p.m., Dec. 19 at 10 p.m., Dec. 25 at 3:30 a.m., and Dec. 30 at 2 p.m., all times Eastern.
Currently, the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Mysteries & Movies are airing the Countdown to Christmas. Romantic movies, series like When Calls The Heart and mysteries such as Gourmet Detective will return after the holiday season.
