Kristen Doute Of ‘Vanderpump Rules’ May Not Know What A Ghostwriter Does

Kristen Doute is following in the footsteps of co-star and best-selling author Stassi Schroeder, sort of. She’s writing a book she calls her new baby about dating. Stassi made the New York Time’s Bestseller List with “Next Level Basic.” The long title of Doute’s book is, “He’s Making You Crazy: How to Get The Guy, Get Even, and Get Over It.”

The Vanderpump Rules star is very excited about her new book according to Page Six. She says, “it starts from like, every dating experience that I’ve gone through since I was a little kid up until the current moment. It’s like a universal dating survival guide.” Part of the blurb reads that it’s a book about, “trapping your boyfriend in ridiculous lies to gathering all your crush’s security question answers on the first date, Kristen shares her no-holds-barred, hysterically funny and hard-earned advice on men.”

Kristen Doute Is Not Using A Ghostwriter

Kristen Doute is thrilled about the book for another reason. She’s writing it with Michele Alexander, the author of “How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days.” It’s the same story that became the classic rom-com of the 90s, staring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey.

It’s her next comment that had a writer at Jezebel questioning if she understand what a ghostwriter actually is. She said, “I’m really excited for everyone to read it. My partner, Michele Alexander, wrote ‘How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days,’ so I couldn’t have a better partner. We don’t have a ghostwriter. We’re doing this our own. And, you know, hopefully, one day it adapts to a television show.”

Since a ghostwriter is a person who signs an NDA not to talk about it, it’s unclear what Kristen thinks a ghostwriter is. The Jezebel author thinks Michele Alexander probably wrote most of the book but didn’t want to be a ghostwriter. She pushed for more involvement and since she penned such a successful book she got it.

Will All Her Relationships Be Written About?

Fans of Vanderpump Rules have seen a lot of Kristen Doute’s love life. It will be interesting to see how much of the things that played out on television make it into the book.

While Kristen says, “it’s like a very facetious outlook,” it’s unclear what relationships will be covered. Fans want to know if her last on-again, off-again relationship will make the book. Doute and Brian Carter broke up for good in September. The whole thing played out on the new season of Vanderpump. They met on Bumble three years ago. “He’s Making You Crazy,” Kristen’s book, will come out in June.
