‘Counting On’ Joy And Austin Forsyth Bought A Home From Jim Bob and Michelle For $10!
Looks like Joy and Austin Forsyth are going to be living in a camper no longer! Thanks to Joy’s parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar it looks they’ve got a new home! On Sunday, Joy announced on Instagram that she and her husband Austin had purchased a house to live in long-term. They’ll finally be moving into a home and out of their camper.
At Last, A House For Them And Not For Flipping
“Sooo…WE BOUGHT A HOUSE and YES! We plan to settle down and live in this one for awhile!” Joy wrote.
Austin has been buying and flipping houses throughout the course of their marriage, though they have not lived in these homes for long periods of time. Most of their marital life has been spent living in a large RV. But it appears the couple gathered $10 for their new home, which they purchased from Joy’s parents.
According to The Ashley Reality Round-Up, Joy and Austin gave Jim Bob and Michelle a whopping $10 back in September for the house, found in a Quitclaim Deed transfer. The couple also purchased an adjacent plot of land from the Duggars for yet another whopping $10.
Court records show that each of the pieces of land have belonged to the Duggars since 2010. They purchased one parcel in 2010 for about $30,000, the other originally belonged to Jim Bob’s mother, Mary Duggar who recently passed away.
It’s definitely possible that Austin and Joy gave Jim Bob and Michelle cash for the property and didn’t report it. Although, there is no amount listed for the sale price in the legal documents. It could be that the home and land was a gift from the Duggars to the Forsyths.
“Quitclaim deeds are a fast and easy way to move property among family members or to place real estate into a trust,” Legal Zoom states. “Quitclaim deeds are most commonly used when property is transferred without a traditional sale. Examples include when property is transferred between family members (such as parents transferring a home to their children), between married spouses (after marriage when one spouse wants to add the other to the title of his or her separate property), between divorcing spouses (when one spouse will keep the home), or when property is being transferred into a living trust.”

“After a year and a half of camper living we’re so ready! I love living in the camper, but I’m ready for more space and a little more organization!” she wrote. “This house has 3 beds and 3 baths and its a very open floor plan! We are just fixing up the basics… flooring, trim, new countertops, & fresh paint!”
She also posted some videos and photos of Austin renovating their new kitchen.
“YES! It’s for US to live in!” Joy said in an Instagram video.
Joy should be excited about moving into a stationary home. Over the past year or so, the couple and their son, Gideon have been living in a fifth-wheel camper. Fans of Counting On watched as the couple moved into the camper immediately after getting married.
In August Joy admitted some of the downsides of camper life, “It’s hard sometimes because you don’t have a bigger kitchen or space.”
Now there she has the space to decorate, she said she’s got some things in mind.
