Nick Viall Thinks There Is A Civil War Brewing Among ‘Bachelor’ Contestants
As the seasons go on for The Bachelor franchise, more drama seems to surface. There’s bitterness, anger, love triangles and of course broken hearts. Now, former Bachelor Nick Viall is speaking up that he thinks a civil war could be brewing within Bachelor Nation. Nick also shares what he feels is to blame for the tension and bickering.
Nick Viall talks to Rachel Lindsay about civil war brewing
Former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay, now married to Bryan Abasolo, has her own podcast. The podcast called Bachelor Happy Hour featured Nick this week and he had tons to dish out. Not only did he share why he thinks a civil war is brewing, he also shared thoughts on fellow Bachelor alum Raven Gates. Let’s recap that one in a minute.
As far as the civil war among Bachelor contestants, Nick thinks social media is to blame. E! shared details about Nick’s theory. Viall said, “There’s a war brewing among Bachelor Nation cast. It’s all social media’s fault. You’re, like, in the middle of it. When I, like, on Kaitlyn [Bristowe]’s season was kind of the beginning of the social media height and then JoJo Fletcher’s season. Now we’re at full-blown social media.”

The former Bachelor goes on to explain
Nick continues to explain, “It’s like Hannah Brown and Colton Underwood started this new wave of cast members.” He goes on saying, “There’s this constant, like it’s high school, and it’s like The Sharks and The Jets—that’s an O.G. reference from West Side Story—and everyone’s just like pretending to be friends. Everyone’s just going after the same FabFitFun deals and everyone’s just like jocking for position. And everyone’s just talking shit. It’s kind of fun. It’s like the Marvel Civil War movie. Everyone’s kinda friends, like, we all kinda like each other and then we get into this big fight.”
Nick has managed to somewhat avoid drama, other than being criticized for his many stints on the show. However, he admits he has sometimes fallen into the drama trap. He said, “It’s very high school-ish and it can get very petty. We all have been guilty of, at times, being petty and kind of responding to our own insecurities and criticisms.”
All of this conversation was partly started because of all the drama lately between Rachel and Raven. While nobody knows the exact reasons behind their now non-existent friendship, Rachel says it’s bad. She even goes so far as to say it’s so bad she will never be friends with Raven again.
Back to Nick’s thoughts on Raven Gates
Nick had the following to say about Raven. He said, “I quite like Raven. This is not about me criticizing Raven because I don’t like her—I think she’s great in person. I think the person she portrays herself to be on the show and on Instagram is full of s–t and lying and bulls–t. And, I think she talks shit about people all the time. And I think that’s totally fine, but I don’t like that people sometimes pretend to be a certain way.”
