8 Shocking Things We Learned From Bravo’s ‘RHONJ’ Teresa and Joe Giudice Special
In case you missed it, Watch What Happens Live aired a special interview on Sunday, October 27. Host Andy Cohen interviewed The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Joe and Teresa Giudice. It was the couple’s first joint-interview since Joe flew to Italy to continue his deportation fight.
Joe appeared via satellite from Italy. Teresa and Andy were in Bravo’s New York City studio. The show often used split-screen techniques so viewers could watch the reactions of both at once. And what reactions they were.
At times, Teresa was dabbing her eyes or grimacing as Joe spoke. The RHONJ star’s husband often resorted to sarcasm disguised as humor. What did viewers and Us Weekly take away from the special, The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Joe and Teresa Unlocked?
1. Neither RHONJ Star Believe The Other Has Been Faithful
The main topic of conversation was the cheating rumors that have followed the couple since before their legal problems. Before their arrest and prison terms dominated The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Joe’s faithfulness was a big issue on the show.
It’s never been confirmed if Joe cheated on Teresa, either while she was in prison or before that. However, she admitted during the show that she thinks he did cheat on her during their marriage.
Joe told Andy Cohen that he never cheated on Teresa, even when she was in prison. When Andy turned the tables and asked if Joe thinks his wife remained faithful, he said, “No, I don’t think so.”
In a heated moment, Teresa claims the men she was seen with were “just friends.” She also pointed out that Joe was seen out with women, too. His sarcasm came out in his response.
“That’s why it made it okay for you?”
Teresa also said that if they choose to stay married, he would likely have a mistress in Italy. Joe didn’t like that, either.
“It’s been three and a half years. If I wanted to be with somebody, I could be with somebody this week. That’s not what I’m looking to do.”

Joe Said ICE Facility Worse Than Prison: ‘That Place Should be Shut Down’
One of the reasons Joe petitioned to be released from the ICE detention center and fly to Italy was the conditions of the facility. He says he was housed in a small cell with eight other people.
“It’s ridiculous. That place should be shut down.”

Joe Regrets Joining The Real Housewives of New Jersey
Joe expressed two regrets during the show. One was that he never did the paperwork to become a citizen. The other regret he has is joining The Real Housewives of New Jersey in the first place.
“I’ve never had so many damn lawsuits in my life ’til I got on that show.”

Teresa Says, ‘You Never Know’ When Asked if They Will Seek Pardon From Trump
As fans know, Teresa once appeared on the show Celebrity Apprentice hosted by none other than now-President Donald Trump. The RHONJ star’s friendship with Trump led Andy to ask if she would seek a pardon. She won’t while the deportation issue is ongoing.
However, she says, “You never know” about potentially asking him for a pardon in the future. Teresa revealed she would like to be pardoned so she can vote. (Ex-Felons CAN vote in New Jersey, FYI, Teresa.)

Joe Reveals He Drank ‘Two Bottles of Wine’ Every Night While RHONJ’s Teresa Was In Prison
In one of the most surprising admissions, Joe talked about his life when Teresa was in prison. He drank every night after the kids went to bed.
“I would literally drink two bottles of wine. Every night I thought about her. At the time I just lost my dad and it was a tough situation.”

He Doesn’t Blame Teresa At All
Teresa admitted to being angry with Joe for getting her into trouble with the law. She discussed the time she missed with her mother when she was in prison.
However, Joe doesn’t blame Teresa at all.

Teresa Won’t Move to Italy; Joe Might Move Closer to U.S.
During The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 9 finale, Teresa said she couldn’t see how their marriage would survive long-distance. Many of her comments during the special supported that statement. She said she wants to be with someone she can sleep next to every night.
Both Joe and Teresa agree that the family won’t move to Italy if he loses his deportation appeal.
“I would not want anyone to move here with me. Come on, that’s crazy. My kids are grounded there. I’m not going to pick them up and move them here. I can go someplace close, and we can go back and forth to the United States a few times. We can make things work.”

She Thinks Former RHONJ Co-Star Ratted Them Out To Feds
Former The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Caroline Manzo once predicted that Joe would go to jail. When Andy brought this up, Teresa went on an odd rant about her former co-star. At one point, she speculated that perhaps Caroline was a “rat” who called the feds.
Caroline denied the allegations, as she has in the past.
