‘Counting On’ Star Jana Duggar Shares Fun Times Musical Post
Counting On fans know most of the Duggars learn a musical instrument. Or, at least, how to sing. But Jana shared a fun-times musical post involving a player piano recently and fans can’t get over it. Many of them wondered what on earth they were playing around with. But, it certainly looked like a good time went down in the Duggar home.
Counting On family post by Jana’s very unusual these days, fans explain how it works
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday night, Jana shared a video and it really looks like fun. But, many fans wondered what instrument they used to make the music. Jana shared, “such great times!” Actually, the music’s really funky and old-time. It looks like Tom Joseph singing. Well, flummoxed fans asked about it. Those in the know chipped in to tell the others. One fan said, “it’s a self-playing piano. They used to have these all the time but they’re hard to find now.” Another noted that they see them in Australia occasionally and there, they’re called a pianola.
But, while it looks easy to play, fans commented on the post by the Counting On star that it’s actually not.
“My family had a player piano…I loved to push the pedals to play the songs. It took leg energy to play it,” commented one follower.
Another agreed by saying, “Super cool. I got to try one once and was exhausted after “playing” just a short time.”
Well, it’s an old instrument and it’s really hands-free. But, it comes with a paper on a spool so you can read the words and sing along. Those spools are not easily available these days.

Fans offer music spools, others can’t get over it
One follower of Counting On kindly offered Jana some music spools. They wrote, “Not sure if you read these comments but I have a box of player piano music just sitting in my car trunk. If you want please get in touch and you can have no cost.” Well, that seems generous as it’s not likely the spools are that easy to find these days. So many fans commented on the unusual post. One said, “lol i can’t get over this. My grandad had one years and years ago. yes great memories. i thought there were none of these left!”
On the memories, another follower said to Jana, “My neighbors had a player piano when I was young. I was at their house every afternoon. I loved it so much. Looks like you all do too! Brings back amazing memories. You will remember this one day 20 years from now and smile.”
If the Duggars hang onto the piano, in 20 years time it could be worth quite a bit of money. But not so much these days. AMICA International notes, “Today, on the Internet, there are people who are selling ‘complete’ circa 1920 upright player pianos in unrestored condition for $250.00 to $450.00 each.”
