Jill Duggar Is Already Teaching Her Kids About Money
Jill Duggar Dillard gets a lot of slack for how she chooses to raise her kids. Fans hate on her for the food she feeds them and for her four-year-old wearing a bib. Fans think it’s ridiculous that Jill uses the grocery pickup service at Walmart. She even got hate for killing a bee in her home. The backlash is seemingly never-ending.
Jill isn’t the only Duggar who takes the heat from Counting On fans. Jessa Seewald, Joy-Anna Forsyth, and their other family members have all faced some criticism. Though Jill doesn’t usually fight back, her husband, Derick Dillard, sometimes has something to say.
The less critical fans also try to defend Jill for her choices and what she shares online. Despite the backlash, Jill does get some support from her followers.
Jill Duggar Dillard finally finds a way to make fans happy
Finally, it looks like Jill has done something to please her fans. On Monday, Jill documented a trip to the grocery store. She posted a video and a picture of her 4-year-old son Israel inserting coins into the self-checkout at Walmart.
In her caption, she writes, “Forgot milk, so actually had to go into the store before grabbing our pickup order….used the opportunity to let Israel practice counting money and teach a little about budgeting. He’s been loving his #financialpeacejr stuff (not an ad but highly recommend!!)…so this was another great time to talk about money and spending! @daveramsey #cashisking #budget”.
Longtime fans of the Duggar family will remember that the family is pretty frugal. They often shop at secondhand stores. They buy food in bulk. With 19 kids, there is a lot to pay for. They try to save money where they can. One of the Duggar family’s mottos is “buy used and save the difference”.
In the comments of Jill’s recent post, fans are applauding her for teaching Israel about money at such a young age. Fans seem to agree with Jill that money and budgeting are important no matter how young a child might be.
Some fans are also asking Jill about Financial Peace Jr., which is produced by Dave Ramsey. Dave Ramsey is a Christian financial advisor. He has written several books and courses about finances. It’s possible that the Duggar family uses Dave Ramsey’s materials.
