Why Mike Johnson Thinks He Would Have Been A Better ‘Bachelor’
It’s no secret that for a while, Mike Johnson was a pretty big contender to be the next star of The Bachelor. He didn’t get the job, and now he’s opening up about finding out he didn’t.

A lot of people seemed to have wanted Mike Johnson to be the next Bachelor, including Mike himself. According to Showbiz Cheatsheet, Mike was prepared to take on the role too. After all the hype, he probably didn’t think he wouldn’t get it. Apparently, Mike auditioned and even came up with lists about what he does and doesn’t want in a woman as well as his fears. Only to be told right before the Bachelor in Paradise reunion that the spot was being given to somebody else.
“I found out in the trailers, you know, right before you go on [the] Bachelor in Paradise reunion and I knew it. I already knew in my head,” Mike said. “Yes, I wanted to be the Bachelor. Yes, I auditioned to be the Bachelor. I went in there with the right intentions of wanting to find love [and] wanting to be true to myself. You might have seen do-rag king come back. I had a list, a word document, of the type of women I wanted, what I was scared of [and] what I wasn’t scared of,” Mike admitted.

What’s more than that though, is not only is Mike sad but he really thinks he would’ve been a better choice than Peter. Mike went on to explain that he thinks that Peter is what they were looking for, but Mike would’ve had more personality in the role.
“I think Peter is a good looking dude with his 5 o’clock shadow,” he said. “He has a fun, super fun job. His family’s amazing. His little brother, I know personally — he’s a dope kid. … I think I would have been more entertaining. I said it, and I’m gonna stick by my word,” Mike concluded.
How does Mike feel?
All in all, it sounds like he’s pretty sad he didn’t get the part. However, now he gets the chance to go out and find love on his own terms. He isn’t doing too terrible. After all, he did have a date with Demi Lovato. That’s definitely saying something. There are probably a ton more dates in his future and he will find a woman that really wants to be with him for him. Not because they are forced together on a TV show.
