‘Deadliest Catch’ Jake Harris Arrest Tape Surfaces
Recently, the arrest tape of former Deadliest Catch star Jake Harris has been released. Fans of the Discovery show have been following Captain Phil’s youngest son, since he left the show. Why was Jake arrested?
Jake Harris Arrested In January
In January, Jake Harris was arrested. The arrest video for the former reality star has recently been released. He was driving an RV, and stopped by law enforcement. After a car chase, which means that Jake was driving the RV, and the cops were in regular vehicles, ended with Jake being caught.
When the officers met up with Jacob Charles Harris, they suspected drug abuse. They noticed he had pinpoint pupils and his eyes were bloodshot. His face was pale. Jake spoke rapidly. He was also shaking, uncontrollably. Meanwhile, the K9 dogs let the officers know that there was a reason Jake had visible clues to drug use. They found 14 grams of heroin. They also found items that would be associated with selling drugs.
This led to the Deadliest Catch star getting charged with driving under the influence and drug possession. He was charged with a total of four felonies.
In the RV was a stolen gun. Turns out, Harris had purchased the gun from someone who stole the weapon. Jake was not involved with that string of robberies, so that charge was eventually dropped.
Jake Harris Goes To Jail
In August, former Deadliest Catch star Jake Harris was sentenced to 18-months in jail. TMZ reported that the former Cornelia Marie deckhand had been at the Skagit Country Corrections since his January arrest. He will remain there until he completes all 18 months of his jail sentence.
After Jake finishes his time, he will then be required to have an ignition interlock device in his vehicle. He will need to pass a breathalyzer test before his car engine can start. During this time, he cannot consume any alcohol and will be regularly evaluated for drugs.
Is Jake Harris Returning To The Deadliest Catch?
A year ago, there were rumors that Jake Harris would return to the Deadliest Catch. In November 2018, Deadliest Catch executive producer Decker Watson had tweeted that Jake could return. Fans hopes were dashed two months later, when he was arrested. As of now, Jake has more important things to work out. The crab fishing reality show is likely the furthest thing from his mind.
