‘Outlander’ Star Caitriona Balfe Dishes on Season 5, Newest Cast Addition, Adso the Cat
Outlander fans have been clamoring for any information on the upcoming Season 5. The drama about a time-traveling World Word II nurse has captivated readers for over 20 years. The hit show is based on a book series by Diana Gabaldon, who is currently writing book 9 of the series for a late 2019 release.
Caitriona Balfe plays the iconic role of Claire Frasier. In a recent interview, she opened up topics such as her adorable new co-star and what fans can expect from Season 5.
Outlander’s Newest Cast Member a Tiny Handful
Adso the cat first makes an appearance in book five, The Fiery Cross. Jamie Frasier (Sam Heughan) finds the kitten on the road during his travels. He decides to surprise his wife, Claire, with the grey “wee cheetie.” He hopes the cat will take care of the mice in their newly built home.
In May, fans were delighted when they were introduced to the kitten who plays Ardo in Season 5.

However, Caitriona revealed that the kitten sometimes disrupts the work on set. She says,
“It does create a lot of distractions because we all just want to play with the cat instead of doing any work.”
Caitriona Dishes On Season 5
Starz recently announced that the new season of Outlander will premiere on February 16, 2020. Fans have a long wait that they dub “Droughtlander.” The show’s leading lady spoke with Entertainment Tonight about what fans can expect from the upcoming season, which she says is almost finished filming.
Caitriona feels fans will be very happy with what they see on their screens in five months.
“This year is really about this family coming to terms with a lot of consequences of things that happened last season.”
Outlander Star’s Upcoming Film with Matt Damon and Christian Bale
Her role as Claire Frasier was the former model’s breakout role. However, it’s not her only role. Caitriona has had starring roles in many films since Outlander premiered. In her most recent film, Ford v Ferrari, she stars alongside Hollywood heavy-hitters Matt Damon and Christian Bale.
She plays Bale’s on-screen wife in the action flick. Fans can see it on-screen November 15th. Season 5 of Outlander premieres on Starz February 16. The show has already been renewed for a sixth season.
Author Diana Gabaldon revealed many years ago that the saga will come to an end with a final 10th book. Book 9 will be out later this year.
