Duggar: Joy Opens Up One Month After Miscarriage
Nearly one month ago, Joy-Anna Duggar and her husband, Austin Forsyth, suffered a tragic loss. At 20 weeks gestation, they lost their second child.
On Friday, Joy hopped on the couple’s shared Instagram account to open up to their followers about this loss. She posted a picture of a bible verse that reads, “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. Psalms 147:3”.
In the caption, she writes:
“Our hearts are healing. Yes, those days come that I miss my little girl so much. Wishing I could have met her, seen Austin love on her and Gideon play with her. Yet, God has given us so much comfort. People say that I am strong, but I am not. It is Jesus’ strength that has carried me through. He’s given me a peace that passes all understanding and he has given me His JOY.”
At the end of her post, she added a few bible verses, and wrote, “‘No one ever cared for me like Jesus’ He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.(Psalms 147:3). The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. (Psalm 34:18-19)”.

In one comment, a follower said, “I’m sorry I just wouldn’t be able to find the positive in god after he took my unborn child from me. My heart breaks for you.” In response, Joy said, “God is the one that gave me the child, how can I get bitter if He takes her away? Although I don’t understand, I can trust the He knows best!”
Though this is a hard time for Joy and Austin, they seem to be staying positive and relying on their faith.
Joy Duggar and Austin Forsyth lose daughter
Duggar fans know that Joy and Austin tragically lost their second child, a daughter, almost one month ago. On July 3, they shared a post saying, “Today marks one week since we heard these words… ‘So this is your baby’s heart (pointing to the ultrasound screen). I don’t hear a heartbeat or see any movement.’ We had gone in for our 20-week ultrasound and gender reveal. It was a baby girl.”
Later in their post, they revealed that they had named her Annabell Elise. In the post, they also asked their followers to pray for them during this difficult time. When Austin and Joy shared about their loss, their family members reposted the photo as well and said that they were praying for the family.
After the loss, the couple had a photoshoot with their stillborn daughter. They shared the intimate photos via social media.
Since then, most of their posts have been upbeat and positive. They are sharing cute pictures of Gideon and documenting their date nights. They seem to be pretty honest and open with their followers, which fans seem to appreciate.
