‘Counting On’: Jill Duggar Dillard Shares Homeschooling Tips, Says Kids Won’t Go to Public School Anytime Soon

Counting On may not feature Jill and Derick Dillard these days, but Jill racked up plenty of faithful followers. On her Instagram, she shared about her new blog post on homeschooling. Lots of followers then commented on the various things they find useful. Jill also suggested her son might only go to public school just ahead of college.

Counting On kids get homeschooling

Fans of the 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On shows know that Jim-Bob and Michelle Duggar prefer homeschooling. Now, daughter Jill Dillard also homeschool’s her little boy Israel. In her blog, she noted that there are some homeschooling kits that don’t break the budget but really produce good education. She noted that “Israel’s still only 3 years old, so we try to have fun with it and not make it too hard.”

Additionally, Jill pointed out that as Israel loves all his learning supplies, she pops them on his “Christmas and birthday lists.” Of course, she mentioned that she didn’t just up and go it alone, as her mom and other homeschooling friends are on hand to help her out with teaching advice.

Jill Duggar Dillard’s in it for the long-haul

Over on Instagram, many Counting On followers commented on homeschooling and asked Jill various things. Actually, Jill’s quite good about responding to her followers and she likes engaging with them. Some of them spoke about public schools and wondered if there was a religious reason why Jill kept the kids at home. Jill said there are “many reasons” why they homeschool. However, it’s not so much about public schools. After all, Derrick got a public education. She later added that it’s not necessarily right for everyone.

Then the subject came up as to how long kids should be homeschooled. Many people had extensive experience with it and suggested that it really depended on where you lived, and available school zoning. Others followed up with the public school issue by asking Jill if she ever planned to allow Israel to attend a public school if he wanted to go to one. To this, Jill said to Counting On followers, that they probably would consider it much later on for college.

Jill’s tips were quite well received
